The 2012 Moomba Masters has been run and won, with massive crowds and perfect conditions seeing some incredible performances on the water.
The standout was 19-year-old Aussie Tim Bradstreet, who won the Moomba Masters Jump with a sensational 67.9m effort on his third and final jump in front of a huge Moomba Monday crowd. The pressure was intense when Bradstreet jumped first in the final (off the lower 5.5ft ramp). He then had to watch as the ramp went up to 6ft and some of the greatest jumpers of all time – including Freddy Krueger and Scott Ellis – tried to better his effort. It wasn’t to be, and Bradstreet fully enjoyed his lap of honour in the Nautique 200 in front of tens of thousands of fans.
The whole event was a massive success, with perfect weather and big crowd numbers on each day.
Apart from Bradstreet’s outstanding Jump performance there were many other standout efforts on the water.
Canada’s Whitney McClintock won Tricks, Slalom and Overall with a commanding performance.
In the prestigious Men’s Slalom, 20-year-old American skier Nate Smith was the upset winner, with big guns like Chris Parrish, Jonathon Travers and Aaron Larkin falling short under huge pressure.
Aussie Veteran Joel Wing took out the Overall Men’s title, with a consistent effort in all three events.

Can anyone explain why such a popular event as this in Melbourne would not be broadcast into Sydney on a weekend largely void of sport.
