Australia and New Zealand both performed well in finals at Callaway Gardens today. However, from four hopefuls, no-one stood in the centre at the awards ceremony at the end of the day.
Aussie wakeboarder Harley Clifford (AUS) placed 2nd, slalom skier Aaron Larkin (NZL) put in a gutsy performance to place third behind Nate Smith (USA) and Thomas Degasperi (ITA) and Amber Wing (AUS) also placed third.
But it was current world jump champion Natallia Berdnikava (BLR) and Jacinta Carroll “The Flying Rabbit” (AUS) wearing Headzone that created the most excitement. Natallia tied on 171’ with Jacinta on her 2nd jump and then, with everyone on the edge of their seat and the commentators quickly checking the rules on what to do if it remained a tie, flew 173’ to victory with on her last jump.
