Wayne Briant from Jobe Australia was on hand to witness as the action from the US Masters last weekend. He filed this report for us …
Australia was well represented at the Masters (Georgia, USA) with Karina Nowlan – Women’s Slalom, Jacinta Carroll – Women’s Jump, Josh Briant – Junior Men’s Slalom, Trick and Jump. In the wakeboarding we had Amber Wing, Harley Clifford and Dylan Prideaux in the Junior Division.
Josh Briant lead out the Australians and took out the Overall and Trick titles and finishing a close second in Jump, with Josh and Alex King (from New Zealand) both scoring 171′ in the finals. Josh took the Rocket Man award with the longest jump of the tournament of 174′ in the first round, which he did after a nasty crash on first jump.
Karina was next to take to the water for Australia in the Women’s Slalom, just missing the finals with a score of 1@ 38′ off.
Jacinta took to her favored Jump event and qualified for the finals in 4th place. Jacinta was first out in the finals with some stiff wind and choppy water. In her usual fashion she didn’t hold anything back and put out a 171′ jump for the field to chase. She kept the lead till the last Jump of Natallia Berdnikava, with a jump of 173′.
